At the Fall Institute for Psychiatric Advanced Practice Nurses, we recognize that finding a preceptor can be difficult for students. We also realize that providers are busy, but benefit greatly from taking students. Advanced Practice Nurses often get perks from the university, including access to evidence based libraries. Hours spent precepting students can also be submitted for recertification. Precepting students is also an excellent recruitment tool.
For potential preceptors, please post your practice setting, patient population, requests or requirements of students and existing agreements with universities if applicable.
For students, please post your school, year in program, requests or requirements of preceptors, and any applicable background or experience
My name is Joe Maxwell and I am a PMHNP student with the University of South Alabama. I am a BSN, RN with experience in substance abuse, corrections, acute inpatient and outpatient programs. The past few years I have been an affiliate instructor with Regis University and Colorado Christian University primarily within the mental health programs.
I am requesting a Psychiatrist or PMHNP preceptor for summer and fall of 2022. Summer hours total 180 hours and Fall hours 240 to finish my program. My current preceptor is moving to private practice and does not have a big enough patient population at this point.
If anyone has any recommendations or is willing to precept me please reach out to my school email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you all in advance and hope to talk to you soon!
